Published in 1998, the year that marked the 50^th anniversary of the Woodhaven - Bedwell Bay Property Owners Association, a predecessor to today's Community & Recreation Association of Belcarra (CRAB). To mark that occasion, the Belcarra Historical Group researched and wrote a book about Belcarra including Woodhaven, Bedwell Bay, Belcarra Bay, Cosy Cove, Farrer Cove, and Twin Islands. After three years of research and thousands of hours of volunteer time, the project was finished and the book was published!

The book is 8½" by 11" with a laminated soft-cover containing approximately 40,000 words (152 pages) edited down from 300,000 words of source material. In keeping with the adage that "a picture is worth a thousand words", the book is very graphical and includes well over 180 black and white photographs with captions, as well as several maps to provide context. The objective was not to publish a "clinical" historical treatise, but to create a "coffee table" style book which can be opened and enjoyed at any point. "Between Forest & Sea: Memories of Belcarra" fulfils the promise of being "a great read". There are stories about the Coast Salish midden, Judge Bole, Harbour Navigation, boat cruises to the picnic grounds, summer cottages, and the emerging village community. Something for everyone!
